College Scandal

One of the biggest news stories that broke out this year all over the news was the College Admissions Bribery Scandal, also known as Operation Varsity Blues. Just this past March, "Full House" actress Lori Loughlin and designer husband Mossimo Giannulli were accused of bribery, by paying $500,000 dollars to William Rick Singer who aided in raising the test scored of their daughters Olivia Jade and Isabella. But it doesnt stop there. Singer also took part in bribing coaches of universities, such as University of Southern California, into descretely admitting the children of wealthy families into sports teams, like the USC Crew Team, as an in. The crew team was said to leak some potential evidence into the case with a rowing poster mentioning "Want to become a Dividion 1 athelete?" and "No experience? No problem." in August of last year. But sceptics are not fully convinces, being that it looked so similar to a previous poster for the team.

Loughlin and Giannulli rejected the plea deal they had been offered, and are now potentially facing more charges for fraud and money laundering. This means that if the two are in fact convited, they may face upto forty years in federal prison, twenty years each for every crime. Judge Andrew Politano confirmed by saying, "These indictments today show that the feds are playing hardball. Those who failed to plead guilty to one count yesterday have now been indicted on numerous counts. These new indictments expand the now-indicted defendants' jail time exposure dramatically" (Fox News).

Since the scandal broke out, Olivia Jade has moved out of her home, but continues to be enrolled at USC. Her personal branding life has been declinging as well, with brands like Sephora droping her make-up line and TRESemmé releasing her from her partnership duties.

Similarly to Loughlin and Giannulli's case, actress Felicity Huffman , wife of "Shameless" actor William H. Macy, intends to plead guilty to disgusing $15,000 dollars as a charitable donation that was in reality used for someone taking the SAT for her oldest daughter, Sophia Grace Macy.

Though William H. Macy has not been indicted of any crime, Huffman on the other hand, has and released a statement after.
